Why the Wind Howls

An original poem by Andie Weight!

The wind blew across the grass,
whistling sweetly as it past.
I heard the wind sing a song,
so I decided to sing along:
     "Whoosh, Whoosh,Whoosh,
blow every bush. Touch every petal,
rattle each tea kettle.
     "Blow,Blow,Blow,
Don't ever slow! Only GO,GO,GO!"
      The song was so pure,
the song was so sweet,
it sounded good enough to eat!
I sang it all day,I sang it all night,
I even sang while caught in a fight!
     People laughed,people stared,
but my heart was not teared!
I was strong, I felt great! And I felt absolutely no hate!
The simplest words, the simplest tune, It was like I was wrapped
in a cheerful cocoon!
I felt so much cheer, I felt no such fear,
until one day, the wind's song DID NOT appear.
I waited to hear the great artist sing it's great song,
but the silence was so dreadfully long, I felt the wind had insulted me by doing this wrong.
I waited and waited, but could bear no more (even though the minutes I waited was four).
I was angry and mad, because the wind had treated me bad.
So, I walked into a nearby store,
and began to explore.
I looked and I stared at the merchandise there.
and I tried o everything there was to wear.
    But, soon I became bored,
very bored indeed,
so I walked outside and stood by a tall weed.
Soon crowds surrounded me shouting my name,
like I had suddenly gained tons of fame.
I questioned and asked the group why they were there.
One little boy did raise his voice,
a certain young boy standing near a Rolls Royce.
He said to me plainly,"The wind screamed your name, it yelled it as it came!
It cursed you for not being patient and waiting for his song.
He said what you did was wrong. So now he will never sing it again!"
I was stunned,I was shocked,
and my throat was all locked.
I could not say a word to the crowd,
so I politely bowed,
and walked down the street,
dragging my feet.
Now the wind howls, and growls instead,
while I sit and weep on my stiff bed.
